Undefended Independence is Subjugation

This book was written by Maj.(Retd) M. A. Jalil, a Sector Commander,  a liberation war fighter for the liberation of Bangladesh in 1971.

I'll just translate try to his book from the original Bengali to English.

In his book he candidly describes all the environments he faced in the course of this famous liberation war.

I'll start with the translation of him as a writer in this book.

Introducing the Writer:-

Author introduction

When we think about him(Major M. S. Jalil), the image of a patriotic warrior comes to mind.  His military life made him not only brave, but also hardy and a well-rounded  person. And the liberation war made him a fighter.  For 13 long years as the founder president of J.S.D (Jatiotabadi Samajtrantrik Dal, which translates to roughly "Nationalistic Socialist Party), he risked his life and worked towards a cause.  His lifelong struggle made him a protester, uncompromising protester against oppressors, looter regime.  Lastly, the change of his thinking had made him follow Islam closely.

Major M.  A.  Jalil is the name of a brave man of this country

The return to mainstream brought him fulfillment.

In this context, Major Jalil himself said, 'At the bottom of the human heart there is an eternal thirst in people for the search of truth and the feel of liberation.  I was forced to withdraw from J. S. D.  because of that thirst.  It may be considered my disability, but I am not ashamed of my disability

No........My goal in life today is fixed- I am determined to achieve my goal.

It is not in my nature to bow to injustice.  This is the true character of a Muslim.

Everyone is curious to know about the different turns in the life of this fearless, patriotic and brave man who declared himself a Muslim.

Major Jalil was a popular character name for the youth.  We present here a brief introduction to the life history of Major Jalil.

Major Jalil was born on February 9, 1942 in Mamarbari, Ujirpur Thana Sadar, Barisal District.  Father- Mr. Ali Mia;  Mother - Rabeya Khatun.

Ali Mia, his father, had died three months before his birth.  He was orphan from his childhood.  From the very beginning of his birth he faced the rigors of life.

Mother's love was the only way to go forward through life.

Major Jalil passed School exam, S. S. C from Dollit institution in 1960.

From his school life, he got involved with writing books.  At that time, he was 'the poor man of the road

Wrote two novels named Riti'.  Unfortunately, later in the novel

Two manuscripts are lost.

In 1961 young Jalil was admitted as a cadet.  It was in Murree, Rawalpindi. Received education.  Passed Intermediate in 1963 in Kakul, Pakistan

Trained at a military academy.  In September 1965, he received commission and joined Pakistan Army Tank regiment.

Later he joined, as an officer, in the 12th Bengal Regiment.

In the Indo-Pakistani War, this regimemt took active participation.

Major Jalil graduated from Pakistan Military Academy in 1966. Later he did M. A.  in history from Multan.

One thing to note is that he had a special interest in learning.

This is rarely seen among military personnel.

February 10, 1971 on a month's leave to visit sick mother, he came home.  But this time he was very much concerned with the prevailing political situation in the then East Pakistan.

A shaky situation prevailed in his mind.  The concern was so much that even after the expiry of the leave period, he refrained from going to the then West Pakistan to join his Army duty.  This politically conscious man wanted to see the end of the last state of politics.

The dark night of March 25 - the entire face of history changed in Pakistan.

From March 26, Major Jalil engaged himself in the Liberation War organization

Housing Shortages in Ontario

There are huge shortage of student housing in Ontario. A student has to pay sometimes more than a CA$1,000/- per month for just a room (even if s/he can find one).

I have also heard stories that International students are being offered a bed besides one's dining space and telling the international student that is his/her room.

Then there is no guarantee in Canada passing out students will get a job in his / her field. Simple labour job or similar are not what the passing out(graduating) students looking for. They are forced to do those jobs.

Under such critical situation in Canada currently,  why are you inviting international students to study in Canada (for that matter in any educational institution in Canada)
